Cooking With Dog

"Cooking With Dog" is my favourite Japanese cooking show on YouTube. It's a bit of a weird concept, featuring a poodle dog named Francis as a narrator, and a middle-aged lady who does all the cooking while the dog watches closely. The lady is very skilled, but the dog's explanations make it easy to follow. I learned how to make many basic dishes from this show, and pretty much everything is covered: okonomiyaki, shabu shabu, somen noodles, katsudon, oyakodon, onigiri, omurice, and the list goes on. She even makes my favourite sweets, such as ichigo daifuku, dorayaki and melon pan. The best episode is the one when she makes a bento, which I successfully re-created once.

I highly recommend watching "Cooking With Dog"- it's in English and you can learn many Japanese cooking techniques, which are so different from what I'm used to back home. And, it's pretty hilarious with the dog watching, he always seems on the brink of jumping into the food.

You can view it here.

I second the "Cooking with Dog" motion! One of the first cooking-like channels I've subscribed to. I'm not sure if this will be up your alley, but RunnyRunny999 on youtube also makes similar cooking videos, and he's pretty entertaining. His recipes are based on requests that he gets from subscribers so, there are plenty of things. :)
