|Sparkles, white wine, sneakers: Isabel Marant all the way.|
A little glitz before I hop on the train to revisit the rice fields: this evening was the opening party of the gorgeous Isabel Marant shop on Omotesando, tucked in a side street, in a yellow house. Isabel Marant is a French designer renowned for her effortlessly hip designs, which perfectly depict Parisian insouciance while managing to just be.... cool. Her sneakers are all the rage, and so are her accessories and clothing pieces.
The Omotesando shop is simple and minimalist, and the wooden interior makes it extra cozy, complete with plush chairs and a large party space in the basement. I had a wonderful time browsing the fall collection (I wanted to purchase and wear every single item displayed), but let's be honest, opening parties are a chance to mingle and sample foods and drinks (you can skip dinner).
The champagne was flowing, and so was the food: not only bite-sized appetizers were offered, but a full on meal was served, and the staff was extremely attentive to every guest. You can count on me to remember the drinks and food more than the clothes, hence the lack of photos. The evening featured a live music set, a photo booth, and lots of sparkling beverages.
Miss Isabel Marant herself was part of the fete, and she looked absolutely stunning and oh so Parisian. It was one of the best fashion events I've attended lately (not just because of the food!), as I like the brand, the shop, and the friendly, welcoming staff.
Autumn collections, sneakers, chunky knits, finger foods and unlimited champagne make me all smitten again.
Sorry for the lack of pictures, it's difficult to pull out my camera while holding a clutch AND a drink.
To visit Isabel Marant in Tokyo, turn right at Benetton on Omotesando, and you can't miss the lovely yellow house hosting the shop.
