Two-tone tights

That was pretty skillful photo booth positioning

I am wearing the two-tone tights from American Apparel. I would never wear those back in Canada, but in Tokyo it seems fitting. Since I write for fashion, I think I should try to be a little bold with my style choices and try different things, as Tokyo is perfect for experimenting. What do we think? Too wild, Japan-appropriate only, or liking it?

I love them! I saw two tone-pattern tights in a shop the other day... now those I would think twice about. But plain colours just mixes it up a bit! I am a sucker for an interesting pair of tights though... I just bought some tights with pictures of ladders on them... I found them hilarious.

Nice tights but I don't know how to get away with it in Toronto.

Oooh I like! But don't know if I'm brave enough to wear.

I miss getting dressed in Tokyo so much. I felt like I could never go too far there because even if I did leave the house in something ridiculous, people would recognize it as me experimenting and having fun whether they thought it looked good or not. I feel like style is more performative here and people are more afraid of pretense, so if anyone does anything over-the-top and it doesn't work, we get the feeling that they're trying too hard. You know what I mean?
