Nara, by candlelight.

Tonight, I saw Nara in a completely different angle. At nighttime, and all lit up with tea lights.

Every year, for ten days in the summer, Nara is lit up with over ten thousand candles, all over the park where deer roam. It's the Nara Candle Festival, To-Kae.

Nara is already so beautiful with all the deer, but seeing it all lit up with mazes of candle, on a hot summer night, was pure magic.

If you are in Kansai this week, please make sure you visit.

Nara To-Kae
8/5 - 8/14
Light up from 19:00 to 21:45
Nara JR or Kintetsu Nara station.
